Hi, rebuilding my seized engine and I need 4 new pistons with rings, con rods and small ends. Where can I get these from new? Any idea on prices?

Engine is 1.9 TD from a swb 1000TD 1.9TD Transporter.

Thanks.

First off hi and welcome to our fun friendly and knowledgeable community, feel freee to nose about and ask away if we can help...

In answer to your query i would hazard a guess at maybe your local Pistons & Compnents shop Vw Van centre or buy a recon Head maybe from the Fleabay buddy given that the engine you mention was used on many VW Audi and Skoda vehicles it shouldnt be that hard to source the parts i wouldnt of thought, that is unless Ray on here can help he will doubtlessly be alone shortly to tell us i shall flag it for his attention however

Hope that helps biggrin

Hi & welcome from me to try serching for engine re-builders, what you want is a small local workshop ideally that can assist you but unfortuantly these are a rare thing nowdays.

Hi, ive stripped the engine down now and it seems the timing has no doubt skipped a tooth resulting in Cyl 1 piston snapping an inlet valve and pushing it into the cylinder head also bending the con rod.

Where can i get:
A con rod with small end,
a piston
New rings for all 4,
valves,
and a second hand cheap cylinder head?

Thanks alot

Ive checked ebay and i'm not having much joy.

Does anyone know what cylinder heads will fit my engine block (ABL) what other engine codes heads will fit?

Also what other engine codes will fit in my bay without the need of welding new mounts or changing any of my other bits and bobs.
Thanks
