Probably but for now we have the upper hand and if we can look after our current ones heres hoping they wont get like that besides the metal is better, the rustproofing techniques are better and the paint is better nowadays which should all help cool [he says praying he is right tongue ] all excluding Trannies and Mercs of course tongue

HI AC

Nice neat job of the welding on the door step
Looks like its fitted in quite nice and snug.

Once you break the back of all the bad jobs you will get new drive to complete the job

I used to love those jobs..... granted they were on other peoples cars and they paid the bills, seen a few front panels on ebay, you should get a chassis leg bit from the same source hopefully.

Hi Chris K and welcome to the forum. biggrin

It's a brave thing AC is doing has anyone seriously ever seen one as bad - Do you know any history on this van was it used as a wet fish van perhaps or in outer mongolia to be as rusty compared to others of its age or possibly just abused all its life maybe ????

Maybe AC you would consider doing some How To's for us based on replacing these panels in teh form of our other How To's here-in ie tools required - skill level - costs - time taken and then step one you do a-b-c images of step 2 you do a-b-c images etc until completed helping us all to help each other as we have no bodywork ones yet .... If you could it would be appriciated simply send the complted ones to us at the usual add t4club@live.co.uk

I second that Dougie we could really do with some hands on bodywork how to's if anybody has performed any.

Its all very well having some written info to pass on to memebers of how to remove a panel but it does not tell you of the problems that exist in doing this process & only a trained technition will estimate these before hand. If however that same info came from such a trained/experianced technition then the home mechanic could estimate the foreseable problems & plan accordingly. I know how frustrating it can be to pull your motor out the garage with a plan to do etc only to find problems & put it back as it was & push it back in the same way it came out having wasted a day.
